Recessed
Recessed lighting refers to fixtures that are set into ceilings or walls. Often called can-lights because of their shape, they include the housing and the trim, which is visible. With little or no profile, recessed lighting provides effective ambient and accent illumination for both residential and commercial use.
Surface Mounted
A fixture attached to a recessed junction box, extending from the finished ceiling. Wall-mounted fixtures can be used to provide task lighting or add general light to an area.
Pendant
A pendant light is a single light fixture that is suspended from the ceiling by a cord, chain or metal rod. Pendant lights are used in two ways - in multiples hung in a series or as a single light fixture.
Wall Mounted
Wall lighting comes in a form of sconces, and it is often used to add ambiance to the space without overwhelming the area. Other uses include art or picture frame lighting, or access lighing for dark areas, etc.
Track
Track lighting is a type of lighting where light fixtures are attached anywhere on a continuous track device which contains electrical conductors. It requires significantly less labor than other retrofit lighting installations, and offers a convenient way to distribute lighting to specific areas of the room.
LED Strip
An LED Strip Light (also known as an LED tape or ribbon light) is a flexible circuit board populated by surface mounted light-emitting diodes (SMD LEDs) that usually comes with an adhesive backing.
